Robert Half Legal's Future Law Office Project
Robert Half Legal, a leading provider of project and full-time professionals for law firms and corporate legal departments, has launched the Future Law Office Project - an ongoing research project that will track emerging trends and developments in the legal field based on interviews with lawyers and industry experts.
A recent survey of 300 lawyers at the largest law firms and corporations in the United States and Canada yields some interesting insights in the areas of talent management and retention - topics of interest for JD Bliss. For example, attorneys were asked: "Which one of the following provides the best incentive for legal professionals to remain with a law firm or corporate legal department?" While 38% of respondents cited a "compensation increase or bonus," 29% cited "professional development opportunities" and 16% cited "flexible work schedules."
Attorneys were also asked: "Which of the following benefits are the most popular among lawyers at your law firm or corporate legal department?" Top three responses? 52% said "flexible hours", 33% said "part-time/reduced hours," and 20% said "telecommuting."
